Mediterraneo is an Italian movie directed by Gabriele Salvatores. It is a charming comedy which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1991. Mediterraneo is set in Greece during the Worl War II and it brings out some stereotypical Italian soldiers. It was defined "a live-action fairy tale” by New York Times movies review because of its daring conceit: love, in one form and another, makes the world go around!
