We have often dedicated our “Slices of Italy” section to important Italian people, who have left a mark in our national and cultural story, such as the architect Renzo Piano, the actor Totò, the fashion couple D&G...
Today’s post is dedicated to Gino Strada, the founder (together with his wife Teresa Strada and Carlo Garbagnati) of Emergency.
Emergency, founded in 1994, describes itself as “an Italian independent and neutral association, created to provide free medical and surgical care and high quality to the victims of war, landmines and poverty.”
Gino Strada and Emergency have left a mark not only in our story, but in many stories of single people they’ve helped and saved. And that they continue to help, from 17 years, thanks to the contribute of volunteers and supporters.
